Special thank you to the Black Diamond Foundation for donating $20,000 toward a new 2020 International Commercial Refrigerated truck with a 12 pallet capacity!
This new truck will help distribute an additional 21,000 pounds of food per month (14,000 meals) to local food pantries and ministries. Ensuring our agencies have access to fresh, quality food is more important than ever to accommodate the growing need as a result of coronavirus (COVID-19).
The Community Food Bank of Citrus County (CFBCC) will be raising funds to offset the $115,000 debt on the truck which has been recently added to our distribution fleet. We currently have three refrigerated distribution trucks in service. Each truck travels approximately 600 miles every week to pick-up and deliver an average of 10,000 pounds of food to the 50+ agencies we serve. The newest of the fleet replaced a 2011 truck that accumulated more than 250,000 miles serving the CFBCC’s mission.
We are extremely grateful to the Black Diamond Foundation for their very generous donation that will help us address the growing needs throughout our community.
